Once again Cappellini gives space to the journey in search of young talents with the debut of the Belgian Nik Aelbrecht, who has created Openup, a collection of tables praising purity and lightness, floating between eternal balance and constant collapse.
A sensual game of lines, details and shadows makes the table suitable for a dining room of a large mansion or even for modern and unconventional living areas.
Simple yet complex, Openup is made of a base of laser-cut painted metal and a top in ash plywood or white Carrara marble. The extreme formal synthesis is also apparent in the colours, white and black, symbols of the most contemporary vision.
Nik Aelbrecht is a Belgian designer. He holds a degree in architecture from Luca School of Arts in Brussels, Strathclyde University in Glasgow and Furniture Design at Thomas More, Mechelen (Belgium).
