The focal theme and fil rouge of this edition is “the distinctive trait”: an invitation for companies and designers to show and tell their story through their work in relation to trends, their own cultural background, and their ability to understand and meet the customer’s requests, which greatly distinguishes artistic production from industrial production.
Like every year, the rich program of exhibitions, installations and talks involves an exceptional elite of creatives and experts in the sector, including Giulio Cappellini and Giulio Iacchetti. In the evocative spaces of the former Church of Sant’Agostino, the original duo presented the project "Abitiamo alla marinara", inspired by the famous novel by Susanna Agnelli, which revisits the maritime lifestyle of Versilia to recount the design of yesterday and today through four thematic islands dedicated to relaxation, sport, food and play.
In the setting of this evocative exhibition inspired by the Versilia tradition, some pieces from the LIDO Cappellini outdoor collection stand out. Among these, the iconic Bong coffee table by Giulio Cappellini, the Litos sofa by the German designer Sebastian Herkner and the new Vendicari armchairs by Jangir Maddadi. The selected finishes, ranging from pure white to violet blue, are a clear reference to the marine landscape, in particular to the shores of Versilia which have always inspired designers and artists from all over the world with their history and charm.
