Ethical, sustainable, high-quality design: this is what art director Giulio Cappellini and the brand have been trying to promote for several years now with numerous initiatives aimed at raising public awareness of greater responsibility and attention towards environmental issues. This virtuous project recently encouraged Cappellini to start a new collaboration with gOOOders, a lifestyle concept conceived and founded in 2019 by fashion editor Eva Gèraldine Fontanelli with the idea of supporting and giving visibility to sustainable projects with a strong social component, without ever ignoring aesthetics.
The first gOOOders flagship store recently opened in Milan, in Portanuova district, is a very dynamic and innovative location, an avant-garde laboratory full of artisanal and sustainable objects, where numerous workshops and initiatives strictly related to ecological and social topics are often organized. In this regard, an interesting talk took place last July 15th with some leading figures of sustainability, including Pablo Martin Gomez, Chief Operating Officer of gOOOders, Kelly Russel Catella, Head of Sustainability & Communication at COIMA, and Giulio Cappellini himself, who underlined the importance of promoting ethical and environmentally friendly design.
The interior design of the store, with a very creative and engaging appearance, was curated by Cappellini in collaboration with Design Differente, with a selection of refurbished objects to underline the importance of sustainable design. Among the furnishings used, some historical pieces from the catalog stand out, such as the iconic Cloud bookcases by the Bouroullec brothers, the Hangman coat hanger by Marc Newson, the Gong coffee tables by Giulio Cappellini and the Drop bookcase by Nendo, alongside some more recent products, including the Openup table by Nik Aelbrecht and the Litos sofa by Sebastian Herkner.
