Born from the restoration of the spaces of Villa Gabrielli in Tolentino, after a construction site that lasted over 3 years with a team of more than 2.000 professionals at work, the Interno Marche hotel is a hospitality project dedicated to the history of international design and its main characters: a home-museum where to travel among styles and furnishings that made the history of design over the last 60 years.
The name, Interno Marche, is a reference to the geographical location where the hotel is positioned – the interior of the Marche region – and to the interior design which represents the essence of the structure itself.
The hotel, which houses 25 rooms, 5 suites, a lounge bar, a bistro restaurant, and a SPA with gym, aims to be a summa and a homage to the entrepreneur Franco Moschini who, through brands such as Cappellini, Poltrona Frau, Cassina, and Zanotta contributed to the diffusion of Made in Italy throughout the world. Each space of the hotel, thanks to a rigorous philological research, depicts the work of the main interpreters of design who collaborated and contributed to the success of the companies led by Franco Moschini during his entrepreneurial life.
Every space inside the building contains a story, an icon, an inspiration: room after room, object after object, with over 400 pieces the hotel tells of atmospheres and authors who have made the history of design. Michele De Lucchi, Marc Newson, Gae Aulenti, Vico Magistretti, Giò Ponti, and Achille Castiglioni, just to name a few, are some of the designers represented through settings, lines, prints and iconic pieces.
Room 101, called “Camera Cappellini”, is characterised by a dreamy and delicately modern soul. The atmosphere with very evocative colours, varying from sky blue to ochre, wood, and anthracite, is made even more pleasant by the greenery of the garden that frames the view from the windows. The furnishings were personally selected by art director Giulio Cappellini as a tribute and testimony to his relationship with the designers. Among the iconic products from the catalogue: Mirror, Bed, the Orla armchair and the Hi Pad chair by Jasper Morrison, the Mini Bottle service table by Barber Osgerby, and the Gong service table by Giulio Cappellini, as well as some lamps from the Arya family designed by Giulio Cappellini in collaboration with Antonio Facco.
Some of the other rooms also house great masterpieces of the Cappellini collection, such as the Proust armchair by Alessandro Mednini in the so called “Camera Radical” or the Peg small armchair and the Drop bookcase by Nendo in the room dedicated to the Japanese design studio.
