Reti-co

Daisuke Kitagawa
2025

With Reti-co, his new cabinet collection designed for Cappellini, Daisuke Kitagawa brings the essence of Japanese minimalism into the world of contemporary Italian design, creating a unique and timeless piece that perfectly embodies Cappellini's vision of modern living.

Inspired by the shoji, the traditional Japanese sliding door made of wood and paper, Reti-co reinterprets the concept of the cabinet by eliminating the handle and transforming the door itself into a structural and aesthetic element. The lattice pattern of the front panels functions as both a surface and a natural handle, allowing the cabinet to be opened through an intuitive gesture, reminiscent of traditional shoji doors. The geometric grid design, based on the golden ratio, creates a perfect balance between functionality and visual harmony, enhancing the purity of form and the elegance of materials.

Available in two sizes, Reti-co features a solid oak case, offered in a natural or black-stained finish, as well as in a new open-pore lacquered finish in blue, green and burgundy colours. The doors are available in oak wood (same finish as the structure), back-painted glass in blue, green and burgundy colour (matching the open-pore lacquers of the case) or in a curated selection of fabrics from the Cappellini collection.

With its clean lines, refined materials, and unconventional design, Reti-co perfectly adapts to luxury interiors, sophisticated living spaces, and high-end contract projects, reflecting the unique aesthetic vision of Daisuke Kitagawa, combined with Cappellini's heritage of Italian craftsmanship.
