Elan, the sofa designed by Jasper Morrison 23 years ago, continues to be a best seller of the Cappellini collection.
Its small size, extraordinary comfort and rigorous lines make it suitable for use in domestic spaces and public lounges. Elan furnishes important public spaces such as the Witney Museum in New York.
This year, the 1999 version with a slender base structure in metal has been flanked by Elan 23, a model with a platform base. The variety of upholstery available, including fabric, leather and faux leather from the Cappellini collection, makes this comfortable, classic and timeless sofa highly customisable, like every Morrison project.
Born in London, Jasper Morrison graduated from the Royal College of Art, in London, and opened his first studio in 1986, when he also began a long and fruitful collaboration with Cappellini.
