Born in Copenhagen, Jakob Wagner earned his first degree in Design Engineering. He continued his theoretical and practical studies by participating in courses and internships in Milan, Paris and Colorado prior to obtaining his second university degree, specialising in Product Design, from the Art Center Europe, in Switzerland.
In 1993, he decided to found his own studio in Copenhagen. In the first ten years of business, his studio focused primarily on the design of high-tech products for sports and professional applications destined for the medical field, after which he broadened the range of his portfolio.
For Cappellini, Jakob Wagner designed the Branch Table, whose sinuous structure resemblesthe branches of a tree.
The designs of the Jakob Wagner Studio are enormously successful worldwide, and have received numerous awards, in addition to being included in the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York.
