Paola Navone is an architect, designer, art director and interior designer.
Her eclectic personality permeates her projects and vision: a well-travelled dreamer, she is joyfully inspired by the colours and atmospheres of the Southern Hemisphere, and reinterprets these nuances by blending them with Western tastes and forms.
Her boundless curiosity draws her to the research of materials, forms and structures, while maintaining deferential respect for the past and a forward-facing gaze.
The Cappellini catalogue hosts a design that well-represents the stylistic breadth of Navone: the Panda Sofa.
In ’83 she won the Osaka International Design Award; in 2000 she was Designer of the Year for the German magazine Architektur & Wohen, and in 2011 she won the Elle Deco International Design Awards for two of her designs. In 2014, she earned a prestigious nomination for the Interior Design Magazine’s Design Hall of Fame.
