After recently winning the Compasso D’Oro, Giulio Cappellini adds yet another gem to his repertoire.
An acronym for Destinations of Mixology, DOM is a recently developed interior project conceptualized by Giulio Cappellini. In collaboration with designer Cassidy Miller, McSwain Studio, and the proprietors of DOM boasting a European heritage of hospitality several centuries combined, DOM brings to New York an unparalleled vision and uniqueness.
Situated in Manhattan’s prestigious Gramercy Park, DOM embodies a distinguished nightlife, and a sophisticated gathering space of culture, inspiring experimentation through the art of libations, music, and special events. In addition to the Cappellini furnishings designed by the likes of Jasper Morrison and the Bouroullec brothers, the subterranean lounge features a private collection of artist Dieter Roth, also exhibited in the private gallery accompanied by iconic Cappellini products designed by Alessandro Mendini and Shiro Kuramata, some products of which reside in the MoMA’s permanent collection.
A uniquely designed and conceived space, DOM is the home of famed mixologist Albert Trummer, a self-proclaimed Apotheker. The realization of the lounge brings to New York the merging of two houses of innovation, a rare occasion when world-class libations work beautifully in tandem with historical design.
Within the legacy of Mr. Cappellini, to collaborate with DOM, reflects yet another chapter to make people dream and smile.
