Cappellini at Ostuni Design Week-end 2025

an installation by Giulio Cappellini celebrating the art of connection

June 2025

From June 12 to 15, 2025, Ostuni Design Week-end returns to Puglia for its second edition. This unique format, dedicated to Italian design, moves away from major metropolitan cities to highlight the charm of small towns and historic villages—where local identity, heritage, and landscape provide the perfect setting for a new way of communicating, designing, and sharing.

A SITE-SPECIFIC PROJECT BETWEEN CONNECTION AND CONVIVIALITY

Cappellini joins the event with a site-specific installation curated by Giulio Cappellini, perfectly aligned with the 2025 theme: "Time and Relationships."

“In a deeply Italian sense, the table, food, and drink are key moments of gathering, conversation, and connection,” explains Giulio Cappellini. “I envisioned a table with two real guests seated in comfortable armchairs and two imaginary guests on stools—silent witnesses to a new encounter, a new relationship. A toast is only natural to mark a moment of harmony and reflection.”

The installation comes to life in Ostuni’s stunning central square, transformed into a contemporary, symbolic stage that celebrates Italian hospitality, the culture of conviviality, and the art of togetherness through an inclusive, refined, and emotionally resonant design language.

LIDO COLLECTION: CAPPELLINI’S OUTDOOR FURNITURE TAKES CENTER STAGE

The installation features select pieces from Cappellini’s Lido Collection, designed specifically for outdoor living. Central to the setup is the Break table by Giulio Cappellini, with a striking bordeaux lava stone top—an ideal centerpiece for social moments. Complementing the table are two iconic Bong side tables by Giulio Cappellini and Vendicari chairs by Jangir Maddadi. The scene is completed by a new small bench from the Vendicari Collection and two Telo Lido towels, adding a touch of relaxed elegance.

The visual identity of the installation is enhanced by a balanced palette of pure white and oxide red, paired with tactile, natural materials—celebrating the poetry of human connection and the emotional power of design.
