“Cappellini Heroes” exhibition at Design Miami
From December 5-16, 2013 Cappellini Heroes brings together a large number of projects with the goal of unveiling the company’s most representative pieces. It aims to focus on an ideal assortment of Cappellini products, from the historical icons of Italian furniture produced at the turn of the ‘80s and ‘90s, to the newest pieces in the design collection. Cappellini Heroes is a time-based, geographic journey that tells the stories of the designers involved, and takes us from the rigors of the Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata to the playfulness of the Dutch designer Marcel Wanders. These are indisputable icons that continue to become part of the permanent collections of major museums of art and design around the world, including MoMA NY, il Pompidou Paris, and V&A London, as well as the public’s collective imagination. Giulio Cappellini, scrupulous talent scout, is the proponent of the brand’s success and many young designers who carried out their first projects with Cappellini have gone on to become internationally renowned figures who are the real “heroes” in the modern design and classic design field.
