Born in Norway, Martin Solem founded his own studio in Copenhagen. The reason for which is rooted in his love for classic Danish design, which was born of his working experience under Rud Rasmussen, one of the most important Danish cabinetmakers still active in the field.
In 2007, he decided to undertake a specialized training course in design and was admitted to the Royal Danish Design School. His efforts allowed him to reach academic excellence, thus permitting him to participate in exhibitions in numerous European capitals such as Paris, London, Cologne, Stockholm and Oslo.
Martin describes his work: “As a designer I am always on the lookout for new solutions; for me a good product must be realistic and functional in order for it to be defined as such. What I strive to do is to combine these fundamental ideas with innovative ideas”.
