Cappellini opens its second showroom in Germany - Berlin

Cappellini opens its second showroom in Germany in collaboration with Sarnes, its local partner in Berlin.

To celebrate the event, Giulio Cappellini will hold a lecture on March 14, 2014 and will present the special edition of the S-Chair, “Homage to Berlin.”

Berlin, March 2014In cooperation with Sarnes, Cappellini opens its second flagship store in Berlin, Germany. To celebrate the opening, the legendary talent scout and trendsetter Giulio Cappellini will talk about “Cappellini’s Dream”, a story of people, meetings and success. This invitation-only event for design and architecture fans will take place on Friday March 14, 2014.

During the event, Cappellini will present the limited edition of the S-Chair, "Homage to Berlin" in 9 pieces. The limited edition S-Chairs will be upholstered with ‘mélange’ grey Alcantara® in a printed camouflage pattern – a new design manufactured with advanced techniques. These pieces will be on sale exclusively at Sarnes.

Giulio Cappellini is an architect, art director and widely recognized trendsetter in the international design field. Appointed as one of the top 10 trendsetters of our time and one of the most charismatic leaders in design by TIME magazine, Cappellini helped to launch the world’s greatest and award-winning designers such as Marc Newson, Jasper Morrison, the Bouroullec brothers, Marcel Wanders, Nendo and Tom Dixon, to name just a few.

Sarnes’ Berlin-based team has continuously reflected on the subject of design and functionality in their unique shop, even outside of Berlin. Ulrike and Arne Sarnes will distribute Cappellini products in Berlin in a 250 square meter (820 square foot) mono-brand flagship store where classic Cappellini offerings will be created with all the famous aspects of design, including the Cappellini container systems. The new Cappellini flagship store is located in the western part of the city in the famous Savignyplatz district close to the Kurfuerstendamm, where all of the main fashion and design luxury brands boast their flagship stores.

Cappellini’s collection is characterized by experimenting and exploring new ways of living, allowing the whole domestic landscape to be furnished– from the living room, to the studio, to the bedroom, to the office. Many of the products have also become iconic pieces and are exhibited in museums throughout the world such as the V&A Museum in London, the MoMA in New York and the Pompidou in Paris.
