MARANGONI INSTITUTE

Florence - Miami - Milan - London - Mumbai  - Paris - Shanghai

Founded in Milan, in 1935, Istituto Marangoni is internationally recognized for professional training in the fields of fashion and design. The Institute guides its students towards a successful future, permitting many alumni to become key players in the field; every year, 4000 students are enrolled at their campuses in Milan, Florence, Paris, London, Shanghai, Shenzen, Mumbai and Miami.

Although the school’s initial educational program was more strictly focused on the field of fashion, the launching of a specialization dedicated to Design soon became the natural evolution of an institution which has always promoted Italian excellence worldwide.

This led to the collaboration between Istituto Marangoni and Giulio Cappellini, who was invited to become Art Director of the Design School, and manage the institutions’ initiatives and special projects, in addition to overseeing the interior design of all of Marangoni’s Italian and international branches.

Through the use of iconic pieces from the Cappellini catalog, Design is present in a multitude of forms, helping to create an immersive experience and an enriching environment with beneficial stimuli for the students.

Among the furnishings present in the European campuses and in the main capitals around the world, are the Sistema a Spalle bookshelf system by Studio Cappellini, the Break tables by Giulio Cappellini and a series of custom tables made to adapt to the students’.

Also noteworthy among the collection’s most representative furnishings are Nendo’s Drop bookcasesShiro Kuramata's Revolving Cabinet storage systemJasper Morrison’s Low Pad chairsTate Color chairs and Morrison Stools, as well as the Juli 09 chairs by Werner Aisslinger; in addition to Marcel Wanders’ Big Shadow lampsDalia chairs and New Antiques chairs, the Cannot tables by Michela Catalano & Ilaria Marelli and the Fronzoni '64 tables by A.G. Fronzoni.

More than a collaboration, Cappellini and Istituto Marangoni share a set of common intents: study, creativity, quality and an Italian point of view that is open to new cultures and novel ideas.
