From 1^st to 30^th September in Venice Homo Faber 2024 takes place, a prestigious event curated by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship to pay homage to the excellence of contemporary craftsmanship. This biennial festival, now in its third edition, is set up in the historic building of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini located on San Giorgio Maggiore island, in the heart of the Venice Lagoon. 

The artistic direction of the exhibition, titled The Journey of Life, was curated by Luca Guadagnino and Nicolò Rosmarini, who managed to create an immersive experience thanks to evocative scenography, live demonstrations, and interactive workshops aimed at discovering beautiful hand-made objects as well as the master craftsmen who created them. This year the event also involves the art of gastronomy through various refreshment points arranged specifically to introduce participants to the Venetian culinary tradition. Inside the Padiglione delle Capriate, among the spaces dedicated to gastronomic breaks, rises the Journeys Garden & Tea Room, whose installation features some iconic pieces from the Cappellini catalogue, with special finishes specifically selected for Homo Faber by the two art directors.

The Cappellini projects reveal a pure, essential, concrete design, as well as a successful harmony between technologically advanced craftmanship and manufacturing excellence, defining a profound similarity with the objects exhibited at Homo Faber. Among the furnishings used to set up the room, characterised by neutral tones with some spots of colours, the Newood chairs, armchairs, and loveseats by BrogliatoTraverso studio stand out, a contemporary interpretation of the classic Windsor chairs. To complete the setting, the Break tables designed by Giulio Cappellini with top made of dark ash wood and the Bac tables by Jasper Morrison with brightly coloured tops.
