Born in Holland, Marcel Wanders initially broadened his experiences in the design field by joining the Droog Design collective, after which he launched Wanders Wonders and, in 2001, the Moooi brand.

Regarded by many as an anomaly in the design world, Marcel Wanders studio has made its mission to “create an environment of love, live with passion and make our most exciting dreams come true.” The studio’s work excites, provokes, and polarises, but never fails to surprise for its ingenuity, daring and singular quest to uplift the human spirit, and entertain.

Several designs of Marcel Wanders studio have been selected for the world’s most important collections. For Cappellini, Marcel Wanders created the famous Big Shadow lamps, the iconic Knotted Chair, Wanders’ Tulip Armchair, the Smoke table and the Dalia armchair.
